Drying-off of Two RHFs Built by CISDI for Handan Steel Bar & Wire Rod Mill

January 12, 2011, reheating furnace for bar mill of Handan Steel, Hebei Steel Group was successfully drying-off under turnkey operation of CISDI. On January 30, 2011, the walking-beam bar mill RHF delivered the 1^st heated billet, and matched with rolling mill for completing the process, which was satisfactory to the customer. On the same day, the walking-beam RHF for wire rod mill was drying-off.

Technological highlights for both RHFs are described as:

▲Side input and side output on roller table, hydraulic roller-type sloping-bench walking-beam reheating furnace;

▲Digital impulse combustion control for high-speed wire rod mill, 1^st practice in China, favorable for improving furnace temperature control accuracy and flexibility, adapting to heating process for different steel grades;

▲ Low NOx burners used to reduce NOx emission;

▲Air pre-heater and steel super-heater in flue, recovering fume excess heat;

▲Evaporative cooling for beam and post, saving water, and recovering saturated steam herein to workshop steam pipeline;

▲Advanced L1 and L2 burning control system.
