On July 8th, 2017, dual-module wire & rod finishing stands, the core equipment for high-speed wire & rod production of new generation developed by CISDI started up successfully in Haicheng plant of Anshan Xinghua Iron & Steel Group, China.
The high-speed wire & rod production line in Haicheng Plant is fully composed of home-grown equipment. 3 sets of dual-module stands researched and developed by CISDI, manufactured by Harbin Guangwang Electromechanical Equipment Manufacturing Co. have been used as the finishing stands, the critical part of the line. The dual-module stand, developed on the basis of the CISDI proprietary SRSCD reducing/sizing mill, equipped with brand new mechanical drives, represents a technological innovation in the current centrally driven high-speed wire & rod finishing mills. It’s characterized by compact design, simple construction, easy installation, with highly flexible groove design and process layout. Equipped with such stands, the mill can be stopped when no wires & rods are being rolled in the mill, thus reducing the operational costs by cutting down effectively power consumption under no load.
The customer comments that the rebars leaving from the dual-module finishing stands during the test runs have a much better surface quality than those from the finishing stands of other types in the market, and the power consumed by the line equipped with the dual-module finishing stands is about 30% less than that with traditional centrally-driven finishing stands when producing the wires & rods of equal sizes, thus bringing tremendous economic benefits.
