March 21, 2014 witnessed the successful hot test run of the revamped caster in Yieh United Steel. The caster cast billets with cross section at 140mm x 140mm made of stainless steel at speed of 1.8m/min (max. 2.2m/min). The cast billets are found satisfactory in surface quality and outline dimensions. This project is supplied by CISDI on EP basis. 

The revamping for the existing 3+2 casters covers mold oscillation, electromagnetic stirring, automatic mould powder adding device, lubrication oil feeding device, marking machine, turnover machines and cross transfer car with hook. The period from the contract effectiveness on 3 March, 2013 to successful startup is 13 months.
