The contract was signed on last January 13 between CISDI and Tangshan Guofeng Steel for building 80t-converter flat blank caster, including 4-strand flat blank caster, to produce 800,000tpy qualified strands in grades of carbon structural steel, low-alloy steel and weather-resisting steel, in specification of 150mmx330mm, 150mmx425mm and 150mmx460mm and in cut-length of 6,000mm.

 

The existent No. 1 caster was renovated by removing the existent casting facilities and reusing some remained. In response to the requirement of finishing hot test within 11 months after signing contract but not affecting the normal production of existent shop, CISDI gave a full display of the design, procurement and construction advantages to meet well the stringent schedule, and at last, ensured the load test of complete casting unit. It also embarked on the customer’s smooth transition of representative products amid the serious slab market.
