Hot Metal Desulphurization Device
Desulphurization Mixing Device
Slag Removal Process
The KR hot metal desulphurization device supplied by CISDI on EP basis for Shaanxi Lueyang Steel successfully passed the hot on-load test on September 21, 2012.
The contract was officially inked on February 5, 2012, covering one 60t KR hot metal desulphurization device with annual capacity of 1Mt/a, and one desulphurization deslagging & dedusting system. The basic design review was completed by March 2, 2012. The erection supervision personnel of CISDI arrived at the site on August 20, 2012, and the KR device successfully passed the hot on-load test on September 21, 2012.
Technical Highlights
- Leading mixer lifting device
Proprietary mixer lifting device and mixer car frame fixation design features good vibrating force distribution and less vibration on frame. As the car frame is fixed, the hydraulic locking system is eliminated, contributing to easy maintenance. The special mechanical construction design ensures the mixer lifting during high-speed mixing, contributing to larger mixing scope for bath, higher desulphurization efficiency, shorter reaction time (by app. 8%) and less desulphurizing agent consumption. The mixer speed is as high as 80~150rpm.
- Improved mixer car frame fixation, featuring well distributed vibrating force and less frame vibration.
The blast furnace slag and desulphurization slag will be removed by grab-like rakes, featuring high efficiency, less iron loss and higher hot metal yield.
- Telescopic charging chute
The desulphurization agent is charged by telescopic chute. Directed by the motorized steel rope, the telescopic chute can be extended to somewhere close to the hot metal bath level for desulphurization agent charging, contributing to higher charging efficiency and less agent consumption.
- Separate dedusting system
One separate dedusting system is used for desulphurization slag removal. The exhaust hood, sealing facility and piping layout is properly arranged to ensure good dust collection efficiency.
It is a revamping project with the existing steelmaking plant building reused. One KR device and one dedusting system are added. CISDI make great efforts to overcome challenges such as tight schedule, limited space and less interference with existing operation.
