March 14, 2012 witnessed the successful hot commissioning of steelmaking converter #2 in Panzhihua Steel Xichang Base, which was supplied by CISDI on EPC basis. Vanadium-extracting converter and LF#1 were successfully hot commissioned on December 9, 2011, steelmaking converter #1 was started up in late December 2011 and LF#2 was started up on March 8, 2012.

The steelmaking project covers vanadium-extracting converter #1, steelmaking converter #1 &2, LF#1 &2 (supplied by MCC-Xi’an Electric Furnace Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CISDI) and one Co-injection hot metal desulphurizing device. So far, the project has been completed and put into operation.
