On-line mould width adjustment is a key technology for continuous casting. With CISDI’s proprietary technology, the slab width is adjusted on-line from 1,510mm to 1,400mm at casting speed of 1.05m/min. The max. width adjusting speed reached 50mm/min during the 5-minute adjustment. The finished tapered billet achieved good quality at surface and corners.

 

CISDI was granted with a patent of utility model for “a kind of mould with on-line width adjustment” on Sep. 15^th, 2010, which allows precise control of position and dimension drifting for narrow-side copper plates and water tank, change of clamping force and stroke applied by wide-side copper plate & water tank to narrow-side copper plate and water tank, prevention of breakout from the clearance between wide-side and narrow-side copper plate.
