CISDI attended the forum of SEAISI 2011 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from December 21st ~23rd, 2011. The forum which has been held annually since 2006 is committed to promoting the technology and education for iron & steel industry in Southeast Asia. The forum nowadays tends to focus on sustainable development rather than simply technology development, regional cooperation and high added-value products for iron & steel industry. Two CISDI engineers presented their papers entitled Intensive Use of Steel Slag and Production Logistics’s Contribution to a Green and Economical Steelworks respectively in the forum, which received recognition from the expert team.
Intensive use of steel slag and production logistics fall under the trendy “waste reuse” and “production management” subject. CISDI’s approach to these subjects has received wide attentions from the organization committee and participating peers. The forum is also attended by NatSteel (the sole steel producer from Singapore), Iron & Steel Institute of Thailand (ISIT), China Steel Corporation, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Tenova (Italy), offering a good platform for sharing the forefront technology information.
