CISDI proprietary hot-rolled high-strength sheet quenching process and equipment test in controlled-cooling lab shows that shape of 6mm quenched sheet is limited to app. 3mm/1,000mm and 3mm quenched sheets limited within 8mm/1,000mm, which is far better than the industrial standard requirements.

Hot-rolled high-strength sheets have found wide application in machinery and automobile cranes, which are typically 3mm ~ 12mm thick. Shape control, especially for the sheets of 3mm ~ 5 mm thick, is a challenge in process control for offline quenching. Based on the results of previous studies, CISDI task force is working on sheet quenching equipment and process design.
