CISDI Signed Round Bloom Caster EP Contract with Shandong Shouguang Juneng Special Steel

On October 25, 2012, CISDI signed the round bloom caster project on EP basis with Shandong Shouguang Juneng Special Steel. The casting unit would produce the 150mmx150mm and 180mmx220mm rectangular blooms and Ф800mm, Ф600mmand Ф450mm round blooms. The downstream Heavy Bar Mill was planned to reach an annual output of 800,000t, mainly Ф60mm~Ф300mm quality bars, through such core equipment as Breakdown Mill, Tandem Mill, Shifting Stand and Cooling Bed.

The advanced and reliable technologies and equipment are described as below:

· Quick change of head to increase the caster’s availability;

· Automatic alignment between mould and segment to ensure equipment alignment accuracy and higher quality of strand;

· Modular design for segments to facilitate equipment alignment and assembly/disassembly, alleviate the maintenance work but improve operational efficiency;

· Hydraulic mould vibration for higher quality of strand;

· Continuous straightening for higher quality of strand;

· Dynamic secondary cooling water distribution for more even cooling effect of strand, better crystallization structure of strand and higher quality of strand;

· Dynamic soft reduction for less segregation and loose at the center of strand and higher quality of strand.

Shandong Shouguang Juneng Special Steel is the biggest special steel production base in Shandong province. Its main products are bearing steel, quality carbon structural steel, high-strength friction-grip bolt steel, anchor chain steel, tubular billet steel and seamless tube. Those special steel products have been widely used in farm equipment, petroleum, chemical and mechanical manufacturing industries.
