Site service for the Saudi Arabian Seamless Tube Mill of Arcelor Mittal by CISDI is in good progress by April 2012.
Most of the civil foundation inside the plant building has been completed, and the equipment for main production lines are under erection. The utility system outside the plant building are being erected and commissioned. The project is scheduled to start operation in Feb. 2013. So far CISDI design drawings have been completely delivered to site. Mr. Liao Xiangrong, deputy president of CISDI visited the site for four days (from March 4th to 8th).

June 13, 2008 witnessed the inking of MOU between CISDI and Arcelor Mittal for engineering and technical service of the greenfield 600,000t/a seamless tube mills in Saudi Arabia, but he project was delayed due to financial crisis and was resumed in first half of 2009. CISDI worked actively with the Owner to promote the project progress. The basic engineering was completed and detail engineering started by September 2009.
Since late 2010, Arcelor Mittal sent more liaison people to CISDI and organized the suppliers to Chongqing for kick-off meeting to clarify the design interface with CISDI, and CISDI also responded actively to support AM in accelerating the design progress.
This project is to build a greenfield seamless tube mill in Saudi Arabian, consisting of one hot rolling line, two pre-finishing lines, one end upsetting line, two heat treatment lines, one QA line, one pipeline pipe finishing line and three threading lines. CISDI was contracted to provide all plant design, some equipment design, EIC & utility system design and amenities design for the plant.
